Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("these Terms") govern your use of the iOS application "Lock in" ("the App"), provided by Yuri Beppu ("the Developer"). By using the App, you agree to these Terms.

1. Scope

These Terms apply to all matters arising between the Developer and users in connection with the use of the App.

Any additional rules or notices posted by the Developer within the App or on its website form part of these Terms.

2. What the App Does

The App restricts the use of applications on your own device based on conditions that you set yourself.

You choose which apps to restrict, for how long, and under what conditions. You may change or remove these settings at any time.

The App uses Apple's Family Controls and DeviceActivity frameworks. Its behavior depends on these frameworks and on the specifications of iOS.

3. Requirements

Using the App requires an iPhone running a supported version of iOS and permission to access Screen Time.

You are responsible for providing, at your own expense, the network connection and equipment necessary to use the App.

4. Fees and Payment

Some features of the App require payment. The current plans and prices are those displayed on the pricing screen within the App.

Payment is made through in-app purchase via the App Store. Payments are processed by Apple Inc., and the Developer does not receive your payment information.

4.1 Free Trial

Where a free trial is offered, its duration and conditions are as displayed within the App.

Unless cancelled before the end of the free trial period, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid plan and your payment method will be charged.

4.2 Automatic Renewal

Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Renewal charges are applied within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.

4.3 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription through your account settings in the iOS Settings app. The Developer cannot cancel subscriptions on your behalf.

After cancellation, you may continue to use paid features until the end of the period you have already paid for.

4.4 Refunds

Refunds are subject to Apple's policies. Refund decisions are made by Apple, and the Developer has no involvement in them.

4.5 Price Changes

The Developer may change plans and prices. For existing subscribers, price changes are handled according to Apple's procedures, including advance notice.

5. Prohibited Conduct

When using the App, you must not:

  1. Violate any law or public order and morals
  2. Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
  3. Exploit defects in the App to access paid features without payment
  4. Infringe the rights of the Developer or any third party
  5. Interfere with the operation of the App
  6. Engage in any other conduct the Developer reasonably considers inappropriate

6. Disclaimers

6.1 Outcomes

The App is a tool that supports self-management. The Developer does not guarantee that using the App will produce any particular outcome, such as reduced screen time or improved focus.

6.2 Availability and Operation

The Developer does not guarantee that the App will always function correctly, or that its features will be unaffected by changes to iOS.

The App's blocking features depend on mechanisms provided by iOS. They may not work as intended due to OS specifications, the state of your device, or other factors.

6.3 Limitation of Liability

Except in cases of willful misconduct or gross negligence by the Developer, the Developer is not liable for any damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, the App.

This includes any missed communications, disruption to work, or other disadvantage resulting from restrictions you have applied through the App.

You should ensure that you have a means of emergency contact available while using the App.

6.4 Cap on Liability

Where the Developer is nevertheless liable, such liability is limited to the total amount you paid for the App during the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the damages.

7. Data

The handling of information in the App is described in our separate Privacy Policy.

Your settings and records are stored on your device. If data is lost due to loss, damage, or reset of your device, or through uninstalling the App, the Developer cannot restore it.

8. Changes to and Discontinuation of the App

The Developer may modify the App or discontinue individual features without prior notice.

If the App is to be discontinued entirely, the Developer will endeavor to provide reasonable advance notice.

9. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights in the App, including its software, design, and text, belong to the Developer or the respective rights holders.

Under these Terms you receive only a non-exclusive right to use the App for personal purposes. You may not assign or sublicense that right.

10. Changes to These Terms

The Developer may amend these Terms where it considers this necessary, with notice to users.

Amended Terms take effect when posted on this page or when notice is given within the App. By continuing to use the App after that point, you accept the amended Terms.

11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan.

Any dispute arising in connection with the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the district court having jurisdiction over the Developer's place of residence as the court of first instance.
